Perfect Gift

Today is a glorious Friday . The start of Summer.  For me, it's a time to catch my breath & reflect on the past floral season and all the comments I heard both good & bad.

The most common  little remark, "Flowers just die.  What else do you have?'  seems to stick out.  It is true that I do offer gift items along with floral designs.  It confuses me though when an appreciation level is assigned.

"Flowers Die"  Yup.  But nick naks  end up in yard sales.  Candy does stick around for a long time. . . on your butt.  Balloons deflate and plants  can get leggy & withered.   Everything has pros & cons.  What is a con to you might be a definite pro to someone else.  I have learned to appreciate things for exactly what they are.  Nothing more.

An artfully designed bouquet is a fragrant display of nature.  Special in the fact it is fleeting.   And awesome in the fact it is a non clutterer. Nothing to store.  Nothing to drag out when the sender arrives for a visit.  Nothing to regift.  Just specialness in its perfect temporary status.  I get to enjoy it and then forever go "Remember that one time I got the most gorgeous flowers . . . . ?" A  gentle reminder that its time to send me another  reminder of love & appreciation.  But I just don't want to dust it. . . .
